Default Pregnancy

I just have a question for all your cysters out there who have either had a child/children already or who are pregnant:

My skin is doing good (knock on wood) and haven't had any major breakout since December. I'm back on the pill (mainly for contraception) and I've also been taking 100 mgs of Spiro since November. My question is - I will be TTC probably late this year or early next. Did your acne get considerably worse or better while you were pregnant? I know it is very individual what happens to people but I just wanted to get some feedback from some of you.

I never had an acne problem until I went off the pill to get pregnant. It was fine the first 2 months off, and then I was breaking out like crazy. It took about 5 months to get pregnant after that. My skin was no worse pregnant than it was off the pill, and dealing with normal PCOS. Towards the end of the 2nd trimester, and the 3rd trimester I wasn't breaking out as frequently. I had a boy, and I've heard that the extra testosterone can cause the breakouts, but I know people who had girls, and had similar issues. I had a really hard time with it, and I dread dealing with it again for the next baby, but I have to tell you it was well worth it. Good luck!

I never had acne, just blackheads, until I got pregnant. My face is like a oil slick now and I am constantly getting new "eruptions". I love being pregnant but me face doesn't.

First pregnancy with my daughter, I didn't notice much difference (I only have what I consider mild acne... usually no more than 4 medium-big ones at a time and a couple little ones). The second pregnancy with my son, no difference, but after I gave birth I had the clearest skin I have ever had. I went about 3-4 months without a single zit! My son is 7.5 months old now and I am starting to get it back though. Just my experience.

Hopefully I will be posting new threads at the end of the year/beggining of next year to fill you in on my "pregnancy" skin!

Wish me luck.

Question acne/pregnancy

Hi there...I have been off the pill for over a year now and my skin has gotten a lot worse since I went off of it...we will be ttc this fall. I have been told my skin will be just as bad if not worse while pregnant. Does anyone have any advice on skin care products, make-up to use while pregnant?

Thanks for your advice!

i was exactly like puggums - terrible breakouts when i went off the pill. when i was pg, the quality of my skin changed. it's not that i broke out so much as my skin was horribly greasy. this got increasingly worse until ds was born.
