Hi everyone. My prayer emergency isn't PCOS related. (Although lately, I feel I could use some for that as well!) Last week my Mother in law found out that she had a brain tumor. So late Wednesday night, Todd and I got in the car and made the four hour trip from St. Louis to Springfield. Mom had her surgery to remove the tumor and we were really surprised at how fast the surgery was. However, after the surgery the doctor came out to talk to the family and he ushered us into a private room. I knew at that moment that something wasn't right. Come to find out it was a cancerous tumor. Apparently it is the kind of tumor that has a center cell and then it has little invisible fingers that spider off of it. They were able to remove the main portion, however they can not get the fingers. The sad thing is that each one of those little fingers can turn into another tumor. The cancer is rapidly progressive and it appears that it started about 6-8 months ago. (Coincidently enough when Todd and I got married) The doctor said that because of where the tumor was that she is going to have problems using the left side of her body. When she smiles the only emotion you see is on the right side of her face. And when she talks or eats she is like a five year old. Her motor skills have dropped a lot. She is going to need a lot of physical therapy as well as some radiation and chemotherapy. And even with that there is no guarantee that it will prolong her life. So we are all thinking of quality vs. quantity. Then again, that isn't our call to make. The doctors are giving her anywhere from 9-10 months. The first thing that came to my mind when we found out was that is the term of a pregnancy. Todd is an only child....Brenda deserves to have grandchildren. I am praying that the doctors are wrong. You know all my life I have prayed that my grandparents would live long enough to see me get married and have kids. And now, that pales in comparison. Please God, let me pregnant so Mom can meet her grandchild. We are all so broken right now. Todd isn't really talking about it. Which doesn't surprise me all that much. And he just told me this morning that he isn't sleeping. We came home late Sunday night and it is killing both of us that we are not with her still. However, there isn't much more that we can do. She is still in ICU and we are hoping that she will get moved to a step-down unit soon. We could use any prayers we can get at this point. Thanks so much!

I will definatley keep you in my prayers! My first husband was the same. He had no interest and no belief in the Lord. I was very blessed though when I met my current husband. He is a man of the Lord, and is one of the kindest souls I have ever met. I know what it is like to be with a man who does not believe, and my heart goes out to you!
