We are doing OK, but I AM SO TIRED!!!! Dara is cutting some new teeth at the moment and I was up with her for three hours last night. She usually doesn't have problems with teeth, but this time she is really suffering. Typically I hadn't a drop of calpol in the house and got so desperate that i tried giving her some cough mixture to see if it would relieve her discomfort at all - not a hope!!!! Usually I can cope with missed sleep pretty well, but being pregnant makes it all the more of a challenge.
I can't believe I'm almost 25 weeks pregnant. I simply don't know where the time is going to... I definitely am not enjoying this pregnancy as much as I enjoyed my pregnancy with Dara. With her I felt the healthiest I'd ever been, had bundles of energy and didn't grumble about a single thing. This time, it's SO different!!!
Don't get me wrong I'm absolutely thrilled to be pregnant - we tried hard enough! I can't wait for this baby to arrive and I know how lucky we are. But I'm beginning to feel uncomfortable and because I can't rest as much as I could when I was pregnant with Dara my back and joints are beginning to really ache. My fingers and feet are puffing up already! Clearing up Dara's toys is enough to puff me out totally.
My midwife appointment last week didn't go so great either. I have ketones in my urine which means I'm burning my fat reserves and losing weight which apparently isn't good in pregnancy. Never, ever in my life have I been able to lose weight so easily. I've tried eating more and eating more fatty foods to try and boost my calorie intake, but it doesn't seem to be making any difference. It's so frustrating! My blood pressure is still erratic so I have to continue with fortnightly appointments for now. On top of that I'm still battling persistent thrush - yuck! - and I just can't seem to get rid of it.
BUT on the plus side. The baby is doing great - all seems to be well. I'm sure he/she is going to be a gymnast or something because he's always on the move. I've started feeling baby's hiccups too which is lovely - loved that with Dara.
That's all the update on us really. Next appointment next Friday!
There's nothing wrong from having a moan. It does sound like you have been trough the mill. Just because there's going to be a fantastic ending doesn't always mean the journey is great, so when you need a moan, go for it.
I know my sister often felt bad complaining about her pregnancy as she how much i would love to be in her position, but that didn't blind me to the fact that i could see she wasn't having a great time.
I hope Dara gets her teeth through without much more trouble. I can't imagine what it must feel like, good job we can't remember it.
Glad all is well with baby, look after yourself

Thanks for being so understanding!!! I know why I love this board...
I'm feeling better this morning. Caught up on some sleep by going to bed by half nine on Friday, Saturday and last night and I definitely feel the better for it.
