Default Preparing the Childs room

I'm not sure where to start... yeah we are moving in a few months before we have our homestudy... but we said we would take a newborn thru 5.... sibling group or single child. I want to start buying things now... but I'm not sure..

What kind of general decoration can I do? something that can go either way and I can accent it with more gender dominate items once we know what we are getting. We really want to get a 3 in 1 crib... that way if its a newborn we have crib, if its a toddler, we have a 'daybed' with guards to keep them from rolling out, and if the child is older then we can convert to a bed.

I need help neither of us can decide what to get and how to make it very gender neutral at this point... there doesnt seem to be too much that is neutral

We bought a daybed with a trundle for a sibling group. The furniture that we chose was a pecan wood color. The furniture was not dainty but sturdy. As for the decor I shopped resale and garage sales that way I could change them without spending a fortune. Our first was a baby girl. So I changed the colors and theme to a nursery rhyme pattern that I found at the Salvation Army. The pictures were awesome and I paid $15.00 for 3 framed nursery rhymes prints. Right now I have an empty room but it is ready to go. I have it in blues/greens tones. I can quickly change for either boy or girl. What I do is keep the bedding/curtains gender neutral but the wall decor I switch out to suite the child. Keep a stock of pictures, bookends, etc. for a quick change. I use preping as an excuse to garage saling. Have fun and congratulations!

I want to go in the direction of having the walls a mossy green and then the crib/dresser and book shelf to match. As for curtains I would peruse the discount fabric at walmart and buy pink gingham with enough left over to make a dresser runner and a pillow or two maybe ? and for a boy I would pick a beige and then depending on the age I would sew trains or cars or something on the bottom of them (you can get them already made if you arent a good sewer and then just stick decals on the bottom). I would definetly search out garage/yard sales in search of clothing if you need to buy it before hand (LOL I know I do !). As for other big items like stroller/car seat etc I would pick out what I wanted and then have the money set aside for it so it doesnt seem like such a big expence when you are bringing home your child

Just my thoughts

Good luck !
