Default Dr. In Seattle

I'm sorry you are feeling so badly. I just started seeing a great Reproductive Endocronoligist, Dr. Angela Thyer at Seattle Reproductive Medicine. (She does treat anyone, not just people trying to get pregnant.)
Anyway, she is very nice and supportive and seems very knowledgable.
I hope you find someone to help! I know how it feels to be in your place!

hey Amynshs, i'm 16 to and i don't kno whether a physical is needed i haven't been diagnosed with PCOS yet but i have most of the symptoms and the only reason i have gone to the docs yet is because i'm scared to i don't kno if this'll be much help but it's prolly better to feel uncomfortable for a few mins then to be left wondering for the rest of your life

This web site has helped me so much, I have understanding now. I'm sitting here crying. Finally I'm getting some answers to what has been going on inside me. I told my mom about it and I really think she has it too (after all we are related). I have more extreme symptoms than her but I have encouraged her to go to her doctor and at least ask. She took the little quiz and seems to have all of the indicators. And to think I was the only 30 year old with acne!!! Thank you so much. Good luck to the rest of you girls.

ive found my experience with my gynocologist very good actually. he's increadibly thorough. When I came to him his instant thoughts of my symptoms were PCOS or Emdemetreosis. Well.. my bloodwork apparently indicates the former. though he'd still like to check for emdemetreosis as it runs in m family much like diabetes does.. i'm a little scared actually.. is it likely i'll have both? I mean.. damn.. Still, i've been very pleased with how good Mr Morris has been in diagnosing and explaining everything. We had to fight to get my GP to send me to the specialist in the first place... and i'm so glad we did. remeber girls.. FIGHT! you've got a right to see a specialist if you feel you need to.. even just for your own piece of mind.

Default So, I just got an appt with an OBGYN

I know what questions to ask....I just want to be prepared for the questions she might ask me....also what kind of exam should I be prepared for? I'm excited to finally talk to someone about this!

Default Newbie with many questions!!!!!!!

I was recently diagnosed with PCOS. My Dr. is a fertility specialist whom I trust, but I am having a problem with the fact that she didn't do any type of insulin testing and perscribed Glucophage with out this type of test. Obciously I have other symptoms, but what about my insulin levels?????? Am I overly concerned or is this type of testing standard in the diagnosis???

Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Glad to see that pregency can occur, sinc my dr gave me the idea that "it's very difficult to have children". I want to have children (hopefully atleast 2).
Glad to know folks have gone through and are going though what I'm experiencing.

This web site is a great source of info for PCOS!

Thanks again

Unhappy Please help have so many issues!!!!!

I had an ultrasound on Thursday gyno found many cyst on both ovaries, I am going for blood work on Monday. I am a total wreck and dont know what to do. I am getting married in April and want to start try for pregnancy as soon as we are married. The doctor said he would call after blood work but that he thought I could wait till after honeymoon to start meds because of the side effects. Im wondering if I should wait with everything Ive been reading. He wants me to lose weight but it will not come off and never have I been able to lose since I was 20 (Im 29) and know I now why. I think if i could get on metaformin? maybe i could lose some weight before the wedding and they can check for ovulation so by the time we get married I could already be on the med. Does anyone have an opinion about this will the med make me feel really bad during the next few months with showers and parties to go to? I really need to lose weight before I get pregnant cause my bp tends to be high. Im so depressed I knew something was wrong but I have really just in the past few months started having problems with my periods and mid cycle bleeding. but have been overweight for years even though i dont eat that much. feel like im in a brain fog all the time and very tired. Do you know if the medicine would help this because i dont want to feel like this for my wedding either.
please give me some much needed thoughts on all of this because I really dont know if I should wait and try and lose some on my own and go ahead like this until after the wedding or tell him to go ahead and try the med now.
thanks for any info
