I get a pre-payment certificate now. I cannot believe how much these prescriptions cost, but when I saw that some of the stuff I get, actually costs twice what I pay...well then I didn't feel so bad. Our prescriptions are often heavily subsidised here and we are very lucky IMHO.

really? you get free prescriptions because you're under 25? and soon everyone will get them??? that is amazing....how on earth can the Welsh economy afford to do that?
The Scottish Parliament have been lobbying for free prescriptions for some time but I don't see it happening. With all the heart disease and obesity it would collapse the treasury

I think that others pay more to balance out us welsh having it for free !!! I was hoping that I wouldn’t have to pay for my mets this month but I forgot that free prescriptions are not coming in until April, roll on then that’s all I can say !!

thanks eva...my prepayment cert has increased lately but it's still great value. if you look at the thread on the health system in the US, you'll see what I mean. People just struggle every day with healthcare over there...its horrendous. we're lucky to have an NHS and subsidised prescriptions here.
