Talking President's Choice is evil!

We got the Insider's Report last weekend, and promptly spent $70 on plants. Mind you, we planned to buy plants. We just hadn't considered getting them at Zhers (our PC store). We got the Peach Huchera (Fireworks or something like that) and a few other nice things.

THEN... I read the food part. *sigh* $3.99 for a litre of barbecue sauce is amazing. And as it turns out, the sauce is pretty good. Then there's the new ice cream. Chocolate caramel with chocolate crackle. It's good. Not great, but good. Better than last year's S'mores ice cream. Blah. And then there's the caramel cheesecake cookies. If you like caramel, you'll like these. Strong flavour and the centre is gooey.

Normally I read the thing front to back several times, but I just can't afford it this year! There's so much good stuff in there!

I've been tempted by those caramel cheesecake cookies every time I see them in store. Now I'm even more tempted, thanks Ajani!

I love the PC butter chicken sauce. It's really good, and I tried their new Naan bread last week and it was all right. Not as good as naan made from scratch, but nice to finish up the butter chicken sauce with.

I was really tempted by those new plants, too. They are beautiful.

I actually had my hand on a package of the caramel cheescake cookies, but I declined. I was purchasing items to make a tiramisu, and figured that was bad enough, lol.

Those black lace plants are gorgeous, and apparently have large pink flowers, too. The leaves really are black. We would have gotten one, but they can get 6'x6' and we have nowhere for one. Imagine using them as a privacy hedge, though! WOW!

I really like their frozen butter chicken. I should just buy the sauce. I don't like microwave meals, though when they first introduced them they were something like $2 a piece, so we stocked up.

We love PC! Of course there is a lot we haven't tried but the vast majority of what we have has been very good quality.

That's how I tried the sauce at first too; I was really impressed with the frozen meals. I think the sauce is the same price as the meal though, so it just makes more sense for me to buy it instead because I have the rest of the meal ingredients on hand all of the time. I'm hoping that PC will also sell the blue menu butter chicken sauce on its own at some point.

I managed to resist the caramel cheesecake cookies again today, but I may pick them up for next weekend.

Ajani, try the Black Lace Sambucus in a large container - they are easily pruned to keep them to a smaller size. Prune right after flowering though or they won't flower next year (flowers on old wood).

If you find one, get it - they are hard plants to come by and only a few are in release to garden centres this year because they are so new.

I work in the industry and have one of these beauties in my backyard already - they are quite stunning. enjoy!

I wish I had the space for it, but it's just not a plant that fits with what we're doing in the gardens. Honestly we'd do better with a narrow, upright evergreen. But I hope that someone we know buys one, because I want to see it in bloom.

And wouldn't you know it, we have to go back again because we need another Dutzia. We bought one in a magnificent lime green with cascading little while flowers and we really could use another. I hope they still have some.

Has anyone tried the Christmas ice-cream they have each year? The candy cane fudge crackle one? OMG. I can eat the whole thing in one sitting.

Yep. PC truly is evil. That stuff tastes like Christmas in a box! But I want to know what they were thinking with their "S'mores" ice cream. That was truly bad. Not gross, but so bland it wasn't worth it.

I love PC stuff. I actually look forward to the new Insiders Report when then come out, so I can see all of the new products! I really enjoy the frozen meals - I always stock up when they're on sale and bring them to work for lunches.

They have a new ice cream bar thingy - caramel, chocolate, pecans...yum. I haven't tried them yet, but they sound so good. There's also a new marinade sauce that looks really tasty - a southwestern mole sauce - I will have to try that too.

So much food, so little time...

That candy cane crackle ice cream is amazing. I haven't tried any of their other ice cream products though.

I love the blue menu microwave popcorn as well - it tastes good and there's no trans.
