Default preventing diarrhea with iron

The first time I went on met in 2000, I had the bathroom camping for weeks, This time I was wary of it though. The day Before I started the met this time I took an iron pill, and take one with the met every night with dinner. I am only at 500 mg so far, and it has only been a week, but no problems so far.

I think the reason this is working is because I started the iron in advance, so it had time for my body to be effected by it BEFORE the met got to me... and I normally find iron a bit constipating. If you find iron loosens you, do not try this.

I am not sure it would work if you already have the diarrhea, because it would go through you too fast to work, so You mihgt want to take a 24 hour holiday from the met, and try it on a more settled tummy.

I Thought on this a long time because I know taking immodium long term is not a healthy option. I also cut down on my vit C caps, because they can cause looseness too. And taking it with a decent size meal helps too.

But so far so good, I have not had to run to the bathroom once. I occasionally get a little tummy upset that feels like it might be coming on, but nothing so far

I hope this helps you ladies camping in the bathroom is NOT fun. Nor is the soreness that you get from weeks of it.

I'm still in the experimental stage, so I'm not positive about this yet, but I have found that calcium helps, too. Specifically, anti-acid tablets that are calcium carbonate, peppermint flavored... They've helped twice, so that's a good sign. Let's hope the trend continutes!
