Talking Preventing new hair growth

Hello, I'm not really new to this board but this is my first post. I've just been browsing through the threads for a while. This site is awesome and it makes me feel much better about myself.

Anyways, i've got abnormal hair growth all over my body and have been taking Yasmin for a little over a year for that and acne. It cleared up my acne and actually reduced the hair dramatically for like the first 9 months. Ever since the acne has been back (not as bad though) and the hair is back to normal. It may still be preventing new hair growth though i'm not sure. What I am most concerned with is preventing new hair growth and getting my hormones under control. Is anyone with me? The fact that the problem is just getting worse and worse really really bothers me. I can't even function properly because it is all I think about. I haven't had luck with a doctor prescribing me spironolactone but even though i've wanted that rx for so long I may not want it anymore. I'm looking for ways of getting my hormones under control. I've read about herbs like saw palmetto but haven't heard of any success with it. I just read on this board about licorice and it really interests me. I'm determined to get this under control and get my life back on track! I just want to concentrate on other things. I'm not necessarily looking for ways of reducing hair growth even though that is always a plus.

I'd love to hear any input, success stories, etc. Thanks.

I almost forgot to ad why I want to stop taking Yasmin. Birth control just doesn't seem to be a healthy thing to take for a long period of time. Besides the fact that i've been getting throat infections, rashes, and headaches lately. I don't know if that is all due to the pill but I have a feeling it does.

Hey there...I went off of BCP because they just didn't agree with me. Since I got off my hair has come back with a vengence and I am dying to get things under control. I am eating a low carb diet and exercising but would love input from someone on how to get things taken care of naturally...

If anyone can post here and give us a heads up please do so...
