I have a friend that knows alot about herbs and is helping me with finding herbs to take for the PCOS. She was told to have me start taking Chasteberry (which is supposed to be good for cysts of any kind) and another friend that has PCOS told me her Dr. told her to take Super Primrose. For the last three days I've taken both of these. So far I've noticed that I'm extremely moody. Actually, I feel like I did when I first started BC and the times when I was taking Clomid. I tear up all the time, I'm sad, a bit depressed and just generally weepy. Has anyone else had any experience with these herbs? And if so, did you feel this way? Thanks!

i personally believe,we all need to live in peace within ourselves, so we try to learn and u nderstand others, and live in peace with all around us.
I used to take Chasteberry with Evening Primrose Oil...but I had to stop the Chasteberry because I became severely moody and depressed. If you are prone to depression it's something you should reconsider, as far as I know. I'm taking Black Cohosh instead and I haven't had any mood swings or depression at all.

I have read that the severe moodiness and depression can be caused by the Evening Primrose alone. In fact there is another thread here at SoulCysters somewhere wherein members are complaining about the effect Evening Primrose was having on them. I have never had a problem with either of the herbs. There also is a thread in the natural forum here that states that you should not take the two (vitex and Evening Primrose) together.
I think that it is important to note that anytime you begin taking medications or herbs that affect hormone levels, you are going to experience mental and physical changes. Eventually everything should stabalize and you will begin to feel normal.
I have been taking a combination a several herbs for quite some time now and I have achieved good results and I anticipate even better results in the future. When working with natural remedies it takes A LOT of patience and trial and error.

Wow that is interesting! Thank you for letting us know! I have a slough of supplements I take on a daily basis. I don't know what it's like to take just one alone, but I don't think I'll try the Even. Primrose Oil alone anytime soon!
I'm kind of hoping to find something that will push AF, I've been on my regimen for about 2 months now and still no AF. I just spot a lot.

Last year I went to an accupunctuarist who gave me both chasteberry and evening primrose. They made me violently ill, not sure if it was one or both, I was afraid to try again! I do have a sensitive stomach though, so they may not bother you.
