Default proactiv

ok i know i posted against proactiv cuz it's gimicky and expensive. yes, those are still both true but it works! i like it tons, it makes my skin less oily and I have far fewer breakouts. but the thing is, I think the price is crazy! anyone know of any face washes that are similar to proactiv? the only ones I can find have salycylic acid but not benzyl peroxide like proactiv has. let me know if you know of any cheaper ones out there! thanks.

I like the murad cleanser called AHA/BHA exfoliating cleanser because it contains salicilic acid plus alpha and beta hydroxy acids in it and it really unclogs those pores. It costs about 23 dollars for a bottle but it will last you about 4 months and i wash my face 3 times a day with it.

I started using a product that another cyster here recommended called Carley's, and it's much cheaper than Proactiv and from what I understand, pretty much as effective. It contains 2% benzoyl peroxide and the rest of the ingredients are natural. Here's the website if you're interested http://www.no-acne.com/main.htm (contains a complete ingredient list), and they also have auctions going on all the time on eBay. I think it runs $24 with shipping (for 16 oz. bottle).

They do offer a money-back guarantee so you're safe if it doesn't work for you or you don't like it. I am on my 3rd bottle and I ordered my first one back in Feb. '02 I think. I didn't have really bad acne (mostly just scars now from my teenage years!) but I really like it and use it every day. My face stays clear.

Anyway, no I don't do endorsements for these people and they don't pay me I just like the product. Hope that helps!

Hi me2!

They now have GENERIC proactive!! Funny, I just bought some today- it's called klear action. The website is www.klearaction.com and the products are exactly the same, but for HALF of the price! I used to love proactive, but it had gotten too expensive for me, so I used cheaper, less effective stuff. I hope this helps.

God Bless !
