Question Problem Periods

Hi,

I have been put on the pill to regulate my monthly cycle only it is very weird, I have many clots and it is very dark.

Has anyone else experienced this problem as I am a bit worried about it?

If you are at all concerned then go back to your GP, consultant, who whoever prescribed it for you. If you are not happy with the explanation they give you then insist on a second opinion or referral to a specialist (or a different specialist).

HTH.

I have periods very much like you explain. I have a very strange cycle, heavy periods and dark also. Sometime, as well I have a really dirty/chocolaty start/end to my periods (hope this is not too much detail). Don't worry, go back to your GP and tell her/him your unhappy and want something else done.

If your not happy with being put on the pill (which is what I have been constantly offered, even though I had said I wanted children!! and didn't want to be on the Pill) go back to your GP and insist on another form of help. Maybe being referred to an endocrinologist? GP's generally only know a little about a wide range of stuff as they see so many people with different problems so they don't have specialised information on specifics. However, they are there to refer you to someone who can help - its just easier said than done getting that referral/help.

Hopefully you will be able to get it sorted out sooner rather than later!! cause I know its a major hassel not only having an irregular cycle, but a heavy one too.

Sorry to blurb on - hope this helps a bit.

Sorry to but in again <grin> But I notice you are in London. If you anywhere near St. Mary's Paddington (between Queensway and Edgware Road) then I can really reccommend their fertility/gynae/etc. department. That's where I am going and I asked to go there a) cos of how I was treated as an A&E patient when I was miscarrying but they thought it might be ectopic, and b) there was a C4 prog last year filmed there in that department which madei t clear they are the pioneering hospital in the country for recurrent miscarriage problems. They are very good and know what they are doing. So if you are in that area (I am in NW London) then I can reccommend it if you need to find a specialist/good gynae department.

Just thought I'd pass that on for what it was worth.
