Default Problems After Stopping the Pill

A friend called the other day to let me know that her doctor had diagnosed her with PCOS. What's funny is that we've actually had the same exact experience:

-Both were fine before starting the pill in college
-Went off the pill eventually when we broke up with long term boyfriends
-Started to notice acne and periods that were getting further apart
-Also started gaining weight around the middle

The only difference here is that when she explained her symptoms to her doctor, she was immediately diagnosed with PCOS and put back on the pill. I on the other hand have been to two doctors, had blood work done and still can't get an official diagnoses!

She has suspected this for a few months now, and my only advice to her was to get back on the pill soon or else suffer the consequences of acne scars and weight that won't come off. I putzed around for 2 years with symptoms before deciding to go back on the pill last month.

Just wanted to share because I feel our situation is so common around here. Girls that do not show PCOS symptoms until they stop the pill. I wish they would research this more.
