Has anyone ever used progesterone cream? to help with pcos symptoms. My primary Dr. recommended it to help with the hormonal imbalances anyone know anything about it? Thanks for any help.
NPC is helpful with symptoms, yes. I use it because when my period needs to come, but won't, my ovaries kill me, and the NPC helps a lot. It also helps with any other PMS symptom I get. The really weird thing is that when I've used provera, my PMS symptoms get WORSE.
The thing to remember about NPC is that it IS a hormone. Just because it has a natural SOURCE doesn't mean it isn't a hormone. So you still need to use it with care, but it is safe when used correctly. But MY answer to your question, is YES, it helps with PMS symptoms. Can help get AF if you haven't gotten it in a while, and can even help you get pregnant. Especially if you use it along with other methods, such as herbs, acupuncture, massage, etc.

you just need to make sure that the NPC has no mineral oil inside because this will not allow the hormone to be asorbed...I use the one from Arbonne...if you want to order some pm me...

I use this, I get a mycelated (spelling?) form that I get from my TCM doctor. It is 20mg per pump. I use it for the last two weeks of my cycle. I used progesterone in the first few years after my diagnosis, and then stopped per direction from my nurse, and then started up again about a year ago. (Initially I used a product by Emerita called Pro-gest, which is available OTC in health food stores.)
I first learned of the product from a book by an MD named John Lee. He wrote a few books one about Menopause, another about Perimenopause. On my website, I posted a public letter that he wrote. HEre's a link to the letter: http://askcassyfirst.com/blog/?page_id=240
It is a hormone, a bioidentical hormone, and although derived from wild yam, it has been chemically altered in a lab, so it is VERY important to have your hormone levels checked to make sure you are using it properly. This can be done through blood testing, or salivery testing if you'd prefer, and most alternative practitioners and MDs can help you with this.
Hope that helps.
