New to website so bare with me..

I haven't had a period in over 4 years probably. So my doctor gave me a strong shot of progesterone last monday (8/10) to start my period. I had really bad side effects this week with numbness/tingling on my left side, tightness in my chest, and shortness of breath. The nurse said it was very rare side effects of the injection and within a few days I would feel better.

I still have not started my cycle and the nurse said that they will have to go to plan B to get me to have a cycle. I am worried that what if they can't get me to have a cycle.

Has anyone had a similar problem? Anyone been given a shot of progesterone to induce a period? IF so how long did it take to start? What other medications have you had to induce your period?

I have taken them before but it was after a course of estrogen. I am dealing with that right now. Since your post, have you had AF?

No children as of yet but trying....
Metformin 1000mg 2x daily
just added Premarin 1.25mg daily for 20 days, day 21 is a progesterone shot.

I asked my gyn for provera or something to jumpstart me after 5 months w/out a period and he offered the shot or pills. I opted for the shot and exactly 1 week later I got af.
