My nurses and docs always said the first day of your cycle is when you have a "flow" rather than spotting. So, the first day you bled is day is day one.

Good luck!

This was heavier spotting sometimes red but mostly brown. Needed more than a liner but not as much as a pad ( sorry so graphic lol) Then i would still go with today as day 1 cuz its the first day that i bleed longer?! This period is not normal. last month it was so heavy that it would run down my leg just getting out of the shower. Maybe it's being nice cuz of Xmas LOL!

I've been told that anything that needs protection (liner, pad ,tampon, etc.) is considered AF. They stressed this especially when I was counting days for Clomid. Hope this helps!
