I have an appointment with a real OB/GYN on Friday. The other doc I saw was at the walk-in clinic, but I finally got in with a real ob/gyn.
Will they test my progesterone at that appointment? Should I just go by the cream anyway and start using it?
Am I a guaranteed m/c just waiting to happen because I haven't been getting injections or anything (this pregnancy wasn't planned.....we weren't ttc but also NOT trying to prevent - kinda let things happen sort of deal)? Or is it possible to have a healthy pregnancy with PCOS without it? I am already a wreck because I am not tired, only get some heartburn and have sometimes sore boobs. So symptom-wise I am worrying.
My mother keeps telling me not to worry but you all know how it is. Worry is name of the game right now for me.
You can certainly ask for a progesterone test today, even if its not the OB's standard protocol. You're definately not a m/c waiting to happen because you haven't used the cream! Keep us posted To view links or images in this forum your post count must be 10 or greater. You currently have 0 posts.

You are not guarenteed a m/c because you aren't on progesterone supp. BUT if you in fact you have low progesterone that keeps lowering with a healthy fetus it could cause a m/c. BUT again, if you have normal progesterone and have a m/c it's due to dna or other problems.
I would make sure they do one. IF they try to say you will be fine with out it explain you are there for them to help you and you insist on the test. You are paying for it after all. Not them. I had a m/c due to low progesterone with it starting at 11 and dropped from there and m/c at 8 weeks. So with that said... please demand it with all of your might... all they have to do is check it on the lab slip and tell you the results. If they dn't do that atleast get a script for a 100mg a day of the vaginal suppository. It won't hurt at all. The cream you buy from the store isn't advised. You can't really control how much you are using as in mg wise.... LIke are you using enough or too much...
Be your own advocate and don't let someone push you around!!!!

First off...Congrats and calm down! Try to relax and enjoy the moment.
No one is guaranteed a miscarriage. It can happen to anyone, at any time. It can happen to totally healthy people without PCOS.
My pregnancy happened without fertility drugs and I'm doing just fine. YES, it is totally possible to have a healthy pregnancy with pcos. It's also totally possible to have a healthy pregnancy after a miscarriage as well.
FYI: I never had a beta bloodwork done and was never on progesterone and my pregnancy is going along just like it should.
Good luck!

Yes! Step away from google. To view links or images in this forum your post count must be 10 or greater. You currently have 0 posts. It will only lead to bad thoughts.
What I did in my first weeks...was take all the information I could about how to have a healthy pregnancy and I became obsessed with that. Example: I avoided places with smoke like the plauge. I'm not a smoker to begin with but before I didn't mind it as much. Now I go to great lengths to walk around smoking areas outside restaurants and stores...
I guess obsessing over what I COULD do to help my pregnancy really helped me not obsess over what could go wrong. does that make sense?

While I think it won't hurt to have it tested, I wouldn't start progesterone unless you start spotting or something while you wait for the results. There are mixed theories on whether progesterone actually helps or not. I know a lot of people here are fans of it. But, having PCOS does not mean your progesterone will automatically be low. That said, it can't really hurt either.

Yikes. Now beta tests are something I would avoid all together. Yes, it might relax you, but it also might not. With progesterone, at least they can supplement it and do something about it. With beta's, you just have to sit and wait and stress. I really don't think they should ever be done or offered unless someone has had a history of loss. Personally, I would opt out of the beta's. They seem to cause WAY more stress than help.
