Default Progesterone supplements or BCP?

I have heard that PCOS can be made worse due to high oestrogen levels, which can make you lacking in progesterone. Is there anyone out there that has tried progesterone supplements with success?

The reason I ask is that when I was pg, my symptoms disappeared, presumeably due to high progesterone levels, or rather balanced hormones. I have been on metformin for 5 months now, without success, so insulin resistance is not the factor - I am quite lean so that was not a surprise.

Other than that, are there any successful BCP users? I am desperate to control the symptoms.

Thanks for all your help cysters.

Post I wanna know too!

I'd like to know too! Bump! My new GYN suspects I am progesterone-deficient (AF around way too often & for too long) and probably estrogen-dominant (they go together I understand plus my symptoms scream it). She suggested either the pill (not my most favorite history of birth control use) or progesterone supplementation certain days of my "cycle" (provera, some other I can't remember, or depo (SHELL NO)). I really doubt I am ovulating. Oh, and I am average weight and met didn't do anything for me either...made some symptoms worse in fact. So I'm curious as to which is better also!

Never wrestle with a pig. You both get dirty, and the pig likes it.
