I started Vitex 500mgs at night and NPC 1/8t 2x day on cd5. I am currently on cd19. No 'o' and my face is getting worse and worse. For months, since starting Met XR my face has been really clear. Now it looks horrible. Is this normal?
The reason I started taking both is that clomid drys me up beyond belief and I have visual side effects and I just don't feel safe taking it anymore. Plus, while Met has caused my cycles to be in the 26 to 29 day range, I was not 'o'ing on it alone and af was hanging around for up to two weeks (light most of the time). I was hoping vitex and NPC would help. I started NPC cd5 to try and clear up my cysts. I actually feel better already, and am sleeping straight through the night too, even after going to bed early each night. It is just my skin that is acting up. Any insights would be appreciated.

I'm using the same thing except taking 2 vitex a day and NPC on 14 -28.. I experienced just the opposite when i first started taking vitex. My skin really got a lot more vibrant. Even other ppl commented on it. Then when Af rolled around it broke out but is now clear again. I would say give it some time I think it will improve.

I would say the break out is a reaction to hormone changes (prob. for the better). Since starting vitex I am having cycles which means that I have acne at different times throughout my cycle. I notice that it is bad just before AF (like it was when I was young, before PCOS full blown), and then gradually clears after.
GOOD LUCK! Hopefully this is a sign that your body is doing something.

you won't O if you take NPC before you O that month. The natural cycle is for progesterone to increase after O, then drop off which triggers AF, cd5 is too early
However if you want to clear cysts, Dr Lee's protocol is to take it early, stopping follicules from maturing for a few months will do this

Thanks for your responses. I am taking NPC from day 5 to 26 because of cysts. My dr prescribed me bcp's but I HATE them! They give me bad headaches and I just am not the same person on them. I am taking such a small dose though, that I had hoped that I might o anyway. Oh well, it won't be the first time I haven't! Next month I will start up after o. I am not giving up on NPC because of acne. I'll just have to deal with it and hopefully once my hormones straighten out the acne will clear up.
