This is the first time I have ever taken Prometrium. I took it CD 43-48...RE's nurse said that it could take 2 weeks for AF to arrive...I hate waiting! On CD 51 I had some cramping and SOME spotting.
I don't know what to think. If AF doesn't arrive in 2 weeks like I was told, what does this mean?? AF was coming like clockwork on the Femara and this time she decided not to show, WTF?
Guess I'm just frustrated!

I am probably not gonna be much help but prometrium was wonderful for me about a year ago...and now my problem.I think that it has quit working for me.I don't know what to do.I used it to induce AF. But now it is not induceing AF anymore.I think my body has got use to itI don't know? Did Femara give you AF?
I am taking prometrium now so I don't have any personal experience, but my friend took it for 5 days and never got her af from it. I am taking it for 10 days and that is what I have heard is always prescribed. My friend also has very low LH and some other hormones, I forget which (she doesn't have PCOS).

Maybe it will work for you and make you feel better! I found out today I may have to start inducing w/ provera.......I don't know if I am gonna like it......
I've took the Prometrium on and off for a couple of years. At first I was taking 200 mg. for 10 days. Now I take 200 mg. cd 12-24. Everytime I have taken the prometrium before I had af, usually I would start before I ever finished taking the pills. It's been 3 months since I have taken anything and I started the prometrium 200 mg. and took it for the full time and now it's been a full week and nothing! Don't know what's going on. I have all the signs of starting af, sore breasts, irritability, nausea, but nothing!! I took a pg test 3 days after I didn't start (Tuesday) knowing I wasn't pg, but hey I thought I would give it a shot. Anyway I'm not sure what's going on. Like I said I started every single time I took the prometrium over the last couple of years, but this time I waited 3 months and started taking it and nothing. Not sure what to do. I guess if I haven't started by next week I will call my doctor.

i'm like you Gracie...I have no symptoms what-so-ever. RE's nurse said it could take up to 2 weeks before AF, but I normally have some symptom a week before AF shows...
I've taken Provera before and its worked...I guess if AF doesn't show by next week, I'll call my RE. I may have to put my foot down when I do call...I'd like to have some BW done to see where all of my levels are.

Good to hear from you. Sounds like we're going through the same thing. Let me know when you hear something, and I'll do the same. Is it just me or has a lot of people been posting on here about the prometrium not wanting to work anymore? Reckon what's up with that?

I haven't noticed anything, but that doesn't mean there hasn't been any posts.
This is the first time I've ever taken Prometrium and I don't know if I like it or not! I will definetly let you know if AF ever arrives and what my RE says...you do the same!

I made an appt w/ my RE today......when I was talking to the nurse on the phone, she was very positive that the Met should help return now that I am up to 1500mgs so I guess I am playing the waiting game! My appt is not until feb. I'll keep a post up too!
I started on Prometrium last night. I'm taking 3 100mg pills a day for 12 days. I was a little surprised that my dr didn't put me on BCPs, but I usually don't get AF on those after a few months, so we're trying something new.
Here is my experience with prometrium. I was on cycle day 45 still no AF and I was about to start taking Clomid so I was eager to get this thing going. My doctor prescribed 200mgs for ten days. I took it and two weeks came and went and still nothing. They then put me on estrogen for ten days and then prometrium again for ten days. I finally started two days later. That was my longest cycle ever but the prometrium did finally work. My hormones were just really wacky and I think that is why it didn't work the first round. Hope this helps.
Well, AF hasn't arrived yet. I went in to the RE this a.m. and they gave me a progesterone injection...man, is my butt sore! The nurse said that AF should arrive in 4 days, if not, I'm supposed to call and let them know. I'm really wishing they would of given me provera, I've always had good results with that. Ah, well...

I have usually taken provera in the past but my doctor INSISTS that I come in for a pregnancy test before he prescribes, it just got to be to much with my schedule to go every month, but may have been worth it. He put me on prometrium, which had awful side effects for me.....(not sure if were normal or not) but they made me extremely dizzy and sick feeling for the first few days after taking them.. I did stick it out and started before i finished them... but my cramps were worse and bleeding was longer and heavier with prometrium than provera... may have been a personal thing not sure, like I said was first time on them. I will try them next month if I have same results will go back to provera.

I never tried provera, the whole reason why I did prometrium was in case of pregnancy. Prometrium is natural progestrone. I know what you mean about feeling dizzy. I felt like I was drunk, it knocked me out too. I must admit though, I had the best sleep ever on Prometrium.
Daisies- I hope everything works out for you!!!

Since Prometrium is a natural progesterone it wouldn't affect things if I were pg?? RE has not done a pg test. I don't think that I am, but it is in the back of my mind. I ask the nurse to add a Beta to the lab slip, but she wouldn't do it...I didn't have any side effects from the Prometrium.
I have a nice big bruise on my butt from that injection. I think the injection was causing me to have some major hot flashes last night, though. I woke up several times dripping in sweat!
