Thumbs down Prometrium didn't work!!!

I finished taking prometrium about 13 days ago and still have not seen AF. This was the second time I took it, the first AF came on day 3 post pills. I've already called my doc, but she's out of the office for a few days and I'm goin' crazy over here, I want to start my clomid! Has this happened to anyone else? If so, what can I expect next?
Oh, negative pregnancy test yesterday, so thats not the issue.
Yet another bump in the road....

Try taking it vaginally. That way the hormone goes right to the source, and is therefor more potent.

Happened to me 2 cycles ago, I had a 77 day cycle! I never got AF after taking Prometrium and finally after a dozen preg tests the dr had me take 1 week of birth control pills and that FINALLY made me start AF. I hope that you get it resolved sooner than I did!

I had the same issue this cycle. I had previously used Provera (which always worked for me) but my new RE prefers prometrium. I took it. I waited. Two weeks later I called my RE's office thoroughly upset, and they asked me to come in the next day. An ultrasound showed that my lining was super thin, perhaps it had been too thin to produce any bleeding anyway, so they had me go ahead and start my Femara (clomid did not work for me) that day. So it may be that your dr. will examine you and have you go ahead and start the clomid without having your period first.

Last cycle prometrium didn't work for me either. After some blood work to make sure I hadn't ovulated while taking them prometrium (I guess some women do!) and for sure wasn't pregnant - he just had me go ahead and start the Clomid! I ended up ovulating with that cycle but didn't get pregnant so AF came on her own. I then took a month off of Clomid because of some scheduling issues - so then no AF again..... This time instead of Prometrium he is having me try Provera - which I just started 2 days ago.....I hope this works! I'm sure doctors handle this different ways- but don't get discouraged! I know I got pretty upset when AF didn't come...but it wasn't a huge issue!

It once took me 15 days to get AF after a round of provera. (Usually it only takes 2-3 days after stopping) I did read somewhere that if you dont get AF, you're either pregnant, or estrogen deficient. (hence the lining not being thick enough to shed)

Hey everyone! Thanks so much for responding. Now I know what to expect sort of. She left me a voice message and said that she's just really surprised AF didn't show this time and she'll most likely give me something stronger and also re-check some hormone levels. I'm keeping my fingers crossed!
Thanks again!!!

hmmm... I'm in the same boat - 13th day after last Provera pill and no AF - - -but I usually only ovulate when i'm medicated (femara) so i can't imagine that I could be pregnant... how do you know if you're estrogen deficient?

Hey ladies.. Sorry that you all are going through this. My doc gave me the same meds to matain pregnancy when I get pregnant, and to help the egg during ovulation. She told me that it will not cause bleedin while you are on the pill, she also told me that it may or may not start your cycle. I dont know whats going to happen. I finshed my first round of clomid and then started the prometrium the night I took my last pill. If I dont get a BFP this month I will see how long it take to get my cycle and let you all know..

Good luck..

There are different MG's of Prometruim. The first time I took the 100mg day 3-7. Then my doctor bumped it up to 200mg and it works. My doctor said she could have gone up from there if it did not work for me. Most RE use prometrium because it is not synthetic progestrone and it has much less chance of birth defects.
