Hi all!
I just saw my ob/gyn today. Since I have a short luteal phase and I had a miscarriage in February, she went ahead and prescribed me prometrium. I am supposed to take the prometrium from ovulation until af arrives or, if I get a bfp, continue taking it until I am 10 wks along.
Question: Do I start taking it once my opk's go from positive to negative or do I wait until my bbt shows a clear thermal shift before I begin taking them? (I forgot to ask my doctor!)
She prescribed me 400 mg of prometrium daily to take at night before bed. The pharmacist was concerned that the dosage may be too high and suggested that I contact my doctor before taking 400 mg because usually 200 mg is the "normal" daily dosage. (The pharmacist was really nice and was just concerned.)
Question: Is 400 mg of prometrium a pretty high dose for someone with PCOS?
I am just trying to figure this all out. I am sooooooooo glad my insurance covered it because for a 30 day supply (60-200 mg pills), Walgreens wanted $399.00! Walmart wanted $189.50! What a huge difference! I was soooooooo happy my insurance covered it!
Any info would be greatly appreciated!
Thank you!
