Prometrium Question???

My dr put me on prometrium this month for to cycle me. I also about a month ago increase my thyroid meds and was put on actos and met. well I've been using my clearplan fertility montior now it's never gone past level 2 so I was extremely surprised to see this morning it jumped to level 3 (meaning I'm ovulating) color me shocked! But the dr. wants me to start taking prometrium on the 1st of every month. But that brings on your tom. So should I take the prometrium?

You would have to talk with your dr. to find out exactly why, but I just started taking it to keep my lining intact as I have been spotting midcycle. I was told by my dr. that Prometrium is used by women trying to get pg as it keeps the lining intact so the egg can attach - I start taking mine on day 17 of my cycle (day one being the first day of AF) and take it for 12 days - the drop in progesterone is what causes AF after I stop taking it. I would ask your dr. all about before you decide to/not to take it.

Thanks, I called my dr he said to keep taking it as directed until a confirmed pregnancy. Apparently prometrium is sometimes used to also sustain pregnancy.

I have heard that too. I hope everything goes well for you - let me know how you do on it, I am interested to see what it does for me. The nurse I talked to today said it is different in every woman, so there is no set "way" our bodies will respond. Good luck!
