I am starting prometium tomorrow and I will be away on business all next week. I have put off taking the Metformin till I get back from this trip, but my Dr. does not want me to wait on the prometrium.
What are the side effects?
Will I get AF while taking it? (I am worried about having a horrible AF while away)
I have night sweats while on Prometrium. Some people do get AF while still taking the pills, however, some people do not start AF until 10 or so days after the last pill. So it could work either way for you.

I take Prometrium days 1-12 of every month (this is my second month on it). The only side effect I have is that I notice I always feel a little warmer than usual. I had a strange period from it last month though, it started at the end of taking the pills and lasted just a few days, it was more like spotting on and off than a real period, but the doctor said that's ok.
just thought i should share- when i take prometrium it makes me REALLY drowsy and a little dizzy for a couple of hours- definitely eat something with it and drink a lot of water to help with the symptoms.

I get mood swings from really weepy to very irritable. I get very tired on it as well, so I would recommend taking it at night. I was on it for 14 days, and would without fail start AF on the 12th day of taking it. That's about all I can think of right now, it's been quite a while since I've had to take it, since I now use NPC. Good luck, and have a good trip!
