Default Proposal???

I posted this over in the GTKY forum but I thought I'd post here for some male opinions.

I would like to get engaged to my bf but don't know how to hint at him to pop the big question - I have been thinking about popping the big question myself. It doesn't matter to me whether or not I get a ring.

So I am hoping for some advice on either proposing to him or hinting at him to propose to me.

Any help would be appreciated - thank you

I think it's perfectly acceptable to propose to him, if you feel that strongly about marrying him. I'd take it as a compliment if a woman proposed to me...(but I don't know if every man would see it that way, or not ?)

You could try dropping some hints or something first, and see how he responds.

Do you think he's ready for marriage ? Have the two of you ever talked about it before ?

You know him better than anyone, so you have to use your judgement on whether you think he's ready & whether or not you should propose.

If you do decide to propose...then I'd take him out somewhere (to his favorite place or doing his favorite hobby/pasttime....and do it there.

Let us know how it goes....wishin' you good luck, with whatever decision you make !!!

Thank you TxHubby

We have had quite the discussion about it on the GTKY board.
I have decided to wait it out a little bit - we are going to move in together first I think to see if we could live with each other before we make that commitment.

I'll let you know how everything goes.

Thumbs up

That's a good call nightrider. I have always thought living together is a good way to iron out little kinks in the relationship and discover behaviors that might need to be talked about. Some times those things can be deal breakers and it's better to realize them, discuss them, and solve them before entering into a committment.

Good luck!
