Default protein powder

HEllo all....I was wonder what a good protein powder is for making smoothies? I am hypoglycemic and have problems eating several small meals a day and I tend to skip meals. I want to try eating breakfast and I thought I would try smoothies with protein powder and berries. I am trying blue diamond almond breeze non dairy with it.
thank you,
Sarah

I say try
Beneprotein

Its taste less & odor less, although some say they can taste it a little. I loved it, i used it in everything when i first came home from the hosp. after WLS!! It has 25 cal in serving size of 1scoop, 0 fat, 10g sodium, 35 potassium, 0 carbs, 6 g protein and you can put it into almost anythign! It would be great in smoothies!! Here's a link -----> http://www.med-diet.com/Novartis/beneprotein_instant_p.htm I hope I helped!

aww thanks for the fast reply. I am going to check that out. Can u tell me exactly what protein powder is used for...is it just to use to get the extra that we are not getting in some of the food we are eating? Besides putting it in smoothies...what did u put it in?

I just buy unflavoured, unsweetened whey protein powder. No carbs, no taste and it blends into anything. I've bought some both from GNC and from a local health food store. Different brands, but both the same.

If you want a yummy flavored smoothie, my all time fav is Myoplex Carb Sense in the chocolate cream flavour. It comes in a box of 20 sachets and you just mix a sachet with milk or water. Unlike most protein powders (and I have tried many, many over the years) this one tastes awesome, like a creamy shake. You can get it at GNC or google it for nutritional info (from memory I think it has about 140cals, 6carbs, 25protein and no sugar). I always have it after a workout to help with recovery.

Kboo,
I just bought some of that and was wondering if you noticed that it kept you full longer or helped you loose any weight? I'd like to loose about 15lbs, and being in law school, my time to make a lunch everyday is pretty limited, so I was going to try this (and maybe some veggies for a snack too). Thanks!

I use GNC''s protein powder. Prefer the chocolate for mixing peanut butter and banana's with it and the vanilla I mix with berries and such. Really great with raspberries btw.
