So I know the whole 10days of 10mg provera to clean you out, but what if your in a cycle and you want to make sure to get AF? Anyone ever take provera for 5 days just to start your flow? I was thinking of doing this. I am on CD17 as you can see from clicking on my ticker below. I am unsure if I O'd, from my knowledge I have never O'd in my life. FF looks like it could be promising, but I am not sure of my temps. What I mean is that I work nights and this last temp CD17, the highest, is after sleeping after getting off a 12 hour night shift, so it could be wrong?? I just want to keep on track of a nice cycle even if I didn't O. Any suggestions? My gut instinct is to wait and see if I get AF on my own, which I never do, but I suppose if I O'd I would. Who knows, sorry for the rambling on.

I have always taken only 5 days of provera. I don't have periods unless I take provera. I only take it once a year but have for the last 4 years. I have always only taken 5 instead of the 10 days. I still go very heavy.
I took 5 proveras and took my last one last wednesday. I started my period on monday. I spotted mon, was light on tues and wed. I started going heavy on thursday. I'm still going heavier today.

Usually I take 5 days of provera. My last provera cycle I hadn't had a cycle in 6 months and I took 10 days. I had the worst AF ever. And the side-effects were unbearable for me. I didn't have any side effects on 5 days of provera.

I've taken provera in the past when i've gone over 2 to 3 years between cycles this time they just started me on bcp without AF to see if that jump starts it if not i'm off bcp and on provera to go back on bcp blah i hate this. I really hope i don't have to go one it because I can only take provera for 4 days before it makes me violently ill but sometimes its the only thing to jumpstart my cycle

I take provera to induce AF. i take 5 days of it like the other girls. I am ttc #2..and i hate waiting for AF after learning that i didn't O. So i take the provera and start my next cycle!
Oh btw..my doc said that its not healthy getting your periods less than 4 times a year. So i used it to induce some periods before also.

I took 10 days worth of Provera and got my period 2 days after my last pill. And like the above poster I think this worst period I have ever had. I am miserable. So if you can only take 5 or none I would do that b/c 10 days has made me miserable.

I have taken provera for 10 days, everytime I've used it. My doctor also told me that it's healthier to have a period every month to prevent a thicker cervical lining, which in turn causes a heavier flow. If I take it consistently month after month, my flow continues to get lighter each month, due to the fact that there aren't months for the lining to thicken. Provera alway seems to make me very angry and short tempered for the first 2 or three day. I just warn everyone to stay away!! LOL
