Default Provera + af/spotting...may be tmi

I took provera 10mg for 10 days, last dose was Monday. Wednesday night I started very lightly spotting. It's brownish, every once and awhile I get the sticky strings that are dark brown (sorry if tmi). It's been on and off since Wednesday night. Never enough to even touch my pantyliner. Its only there when I wipe and its not there every time. My last af was in May. When I was getting af without it being induced for the last 8 months, I would spot for 2 two days (it was enough to reach my pantyliner and it was actually red, not brown) and then af would come full force. Is this normal? I know it can take up to 14 days for af to come after completing the provera. Have any of you experienced the same thing taking provera or prometrium? I'm wondering if this is my body getting rid of the old lining that has been there since for 2 months now, that would explain why it's brown.

The more I think about it, the more I think I'm just experiencing breakthru bleeding. I've never experienced it before, so it didn't occur to me until after I posted the above message. I am very lightly spotting again this morning after not spotting at all last night, so that is my guess.
