Default Provera- first cycle question

Hi everyone. My Dr, recently prescribed Provera after going 90+ days without my period. I am supposed to take it for 10 days and get my period 3-7 days after.

I will taken 3 days (4th tonight at dinner) and I am already spotting and having a lot of cramping. Is this normal? I can't call the Dr. until Monday so I'm not sure what to do. thanks!

Hey Girl,

I don't think so... I've been taking provera for months. I have never had that happen to me. I normally have a light -medium pd several days after finishing my last pill. I don't think it's anything to be really scared about though. Unless, it gets really bad or severe pain u might be alright until you can call the office on Monday. Or see if they have a paging or after hours emergency # u can call if u think something might seriously be wrong... Hope u r okay!

I have had mine come towards the end of taking 10 days of Provera. The earliest I think was Provera day 8. I had it come earlier than that taking Prometrium though, after about the third day.

THe first and second time I took Provera, which was prescribed for 10 days, I started spotting and having cramps on day 4. When I called the dr she said to continue taking the full 10 days and call her back if a full AF did not appear with in 3-7 days after completing the prescription. In both cases I AF appeard on day 5 after a full 10 days of Provera.
Hope this helps!
