Provera: Heavy Spotting Versus AF? I was prescibed 5 days of Provera on day 45 of an a/o cycle, and the nurse told me to schedule a Day 3 ultrasound after AF began because I'm going to take Clomid.
I finished the last Provera pill on last Friday. On Monday, I began spotting. I called my doctor's office to schedule the u/s and the nurse said that I should call back when I get a "full flow." The spotting has continued. Hours can go by without anything, and then a big spot. Sometimes there are small clots and mild cramping.
This feels like more than spotting, but is certainly not a "full flow." I wonder if, because I've tested with low estrogen levels in the past, maybe there's not enough lining for a full flow (which is maybe why it was an a/o cycle)? When I asked my nurse about this, she said "Well, if there's not a full flow, we'll give you another pregnancy test." WTF?!?
What I'm wondering is... well, if anyone has ever taken provera and gotten heavy spotting. How long does the spotting last? And what is considered Day 1 if you only get just spotting?
