I have not had my period for the past 2 months and my dr gave provera to get my period. already i am completed 5 days of tablets, but still no sign of AF. But pain in the sides of the stomach is there at times. Do i need to continue taking the provera for another 5 days. Till what time i need to wait for my AF? This is my first time of taking the provera. I am on metformin 1500mg per day for past 5 months. but still no signs of improvement. i am really concerned. please answer me.
I have asked lot of questions please throw u r suggestions.

On average for me, my AF starts 8-12 days after I finish the pills. Most people do not start until they complete taking the pills and my doc told me it can take up to two weeks for AF to start after the last pill. So if you are still taking pills, be patient. I know how tough that can be, but it could take more time.

I had the same problem. I was on provera but I took 10mg for 10 days, but I wasn't getting my period. The doctor wanted to put me back on birth control because she thought I wasn't going to get it (this was 10 days after my last pill). I waited it out and the next day I spotted (day 11) and now (day 12) I finally got it, but yea it really can take long! It's different for everyone though. If you don't get it by two weeks to the day, then go to the doctor and see what else they have to bring on your cycle.
Thanks to both of u for throwing u r suggestions. My tablet gets complete tomm. So I will wait for another 1 week and then see the dr.
I have very few sym. like hot and light pain in the lower adbomen. are these a symptoms of arrival of AF? bcoz before that i have never had this kind of feeling. advice me on this.

yea... Normally it taked anywhere from before ending the pill till 2 weeks after you stopped taking it. Sonds like AF is coming for you. I didn't get mine till day 11, and now I feel it's never going to end! lol. Just be patient, and it'll come eventually.

I took my last pill on Thursday and started my period (fully) today (Sunday). I had a little spotting yesterday.
About 3 days into the pill I had the pain like you are describing. I have really painful periods so since Saturday afternoon I have been in almost severe pain. I really think when you start depends on your body. And then I guess there is probably some that Provera doesn't work for.
From now on I have to take Provera for 10 days every 90 days if I don't have a cycle on my own.
