Question Provera question

I was put on prometrium 200 mg for ten days on Feb 7, and af never showed. I called the OB/GYN office and was placed on Provera 10 mg for ten days. Last night was my second pill of the Provera, and I started bleeding around 11:50 pm after sex. I went to bed, and now there is nothing. Not even one drop since that one episode before bed last night! I just don't understand what happened!

My main questions are, . . . . 1) how common is this, and 2) has this happened to any of you before? I haven't had af since December. My body is very stubborn.

Thanks for any input!

Pam

Hmmm... How long did you wait after you finished taking Prometrium for AF? It can up to a week for AF to come after finishing the doseage. Also, the normal dose to bring on AF is 400 MG a night for 10 days. Maybe they didn't give you a strong enough dose or you didn't wait long enough after finishing the pills.

If this is the case then taking the Provera afterwards would mess with your body. The drop of Progesterone level (after finishing the Prometrium) is what brings on AF. The starting of bleeding was probably that beginning to happen but when you took Provera your body sensed high levels of progesterone and stopped AF because it thinks you O'd and wants to keep the lining of the uterus thick in case an egg gets fertilized. It's my guess that that's what happened.

I was on my second pill of Provera and started to spot (after sex )then stoped. It took two more days of taking it and then A/F came. When A/F really comes you stop taking it.
Sound like what you may be going through.
