I am on my first round of Provera to induce AF. I was just wondering how long it took for any of you to get a visit from AF, after taking Provera.

I just went through the same thing. I had not had a period in 6 months! But I took provera for 7 days and 3 or 4 days later I had my period. From the last day until the day that I got my period I had SEVERE cramping so I knew what was comming. I've decided I do not want to do provera again but if the doc does want to induce my period again I will ask about prometrium which is supposed to have less side effets. With me the provera causes crazy crying spells and depression, hot flashes etc.

Im on the Generic Meds of Provera. Today is my 10th pill and I haven't really been cramping a whole lot. I'm kinda worried that it didnt work. What kind of side effects did you get?

I had TERRIBLE cramping toward the end of the time I was taking Provera. I thought it wasn't going to work but I got my period about 4 days later so it worked. I also had hot flashes and ridiculous mood swings....poor hubby.

It was around 3-4 days with me also. Some have said they experienced a lot of pain and cramping but it did not bother me. I have took the meds several times and did just fine. Every person is different.

I took 10mg for 10 days and started the second day after I stopped. I hadnt had a period in 5 years and am cramping bad and going really heavy. The day before I started everything was making me cry lol and now my hubby is saying that Im in a mood so could be provera could be just good old PMS....

prometrium gave me the bad side effects and not provera so be careful with either one. prometrium makes you feel out of body feeling. it also gave me visual disturbances and sharp pains in my arms and legs.

I this is the third time that I have taken provera and I am 22 . After I finished the ten pills eight to ten days later I started my period.

Hi trust me it is the medicine I have taken it three times and I am on it again . It causes me to cry for two days .

Hi it takes up to ten days for you to start your period after you finish the pills. I am taking it to make me start my period also I have not had one since May 9.

It took me 1 week to have my period after taking 10 days worth of 10mg pills. I had cramping towards the end of the medication, and I cried a lot! Well at least I finally got AF, so now DR. says chart my temps, so thats the game plan now.
