Provera side effects?

Hello all. I start my 14 days of Provera tonight and I was wondering if within those 14 days I might experience some mood swings or anything like that or if all the craziness that comes with me having a period will start after I finish taking them and have the withdrawls. I have taken Provera before but that was about 5 years ago and it didn't even work...hopefully it will this time. Regardless, I don't remember if I had PMS while on it or after it or even at all. Please let me know what your experiences are so I can warn my family if needed...LOL.

I have been prescribed Provera two times in the last past year.

The first time I was prescribed it, I got depressed for 3-4 days mid way through taking Provera.

The second time I was prescribed it (Aug of this year), I got depressed from the very first day of taking the pills.

Besides the depression side effects, I did not have any other side effects when taking Provera.

Whenever I've had to take it, I always apologized to my family before I started it. lol I got a really bad case of PMS. Crying one minute and ready to take someone's head off the next. It was during the time I was taking the pills, not while waiting for AF to show.

Hopefully, you won't feel this way. But you might want to warn your family - just in case.

When I took provera I had really bad side effects -- the sypmtoms were similar to PMS but magnified about 1000 times, to the point I thought I was going crazy.

If you have bad side effects talk to your doctor about prometrium, it's the same hormone but in a different form that may not cause as many side effects.
