Hi all, I'm new here...newly diagnosed with PCOS.
So anyway, two weeks ago I went to see my endocrinologist. He decided to put me on metformin. When I started taking it I had been lightly spotting for about three days. After starting the met, it became a more normal period right away...bleeding was moderate etc...and this all happened within 24 hours of the first met pill. Now, three weeks later, this period is still going strong! It isn't going away AT ALL! I called my endocrinologist to ask if this was normal or not, and he said he wants to try to stop it with provera. Here's my question. I've taken provera to INDUCE a period before (when TTC my 15 month old daughter), but never to STOP a period. Does it work? How can it do BOTH things?? Has this ever happened to anyone else? I am so afraid that every month my period is going to last for like three weeks..acck! And also, do you think I will get my period again 28 days from the start of this one? If so that means I am due up again in like a week! Sigh...
Was it the metformin that caused this? I am just so wishing my reproductive system could be normal...
