Default Provera vs. Prometrium
I have read several things about Provera on here. I have taken it a few times with no problems. My doctor now will not prescribe Provera- he says there are too many risks- so he prescribed Prometrium. I took my prescription and waited but no period. It has been over 2 weeks and I had seroius PMS but now nothing. Doc says to wait a few more days. Have any of you had this experience? Have you heard about Prometrium being a safer alternative to Provera?

I have heard of Prometrium being safer. It is natural, wherease Provera is synthetic. Just do a google search use the same title as your post and you will see some info.
Sorry, no help on the wait, I have always been on an Rx of Provera.

The only thing I know is there is no generic for Prometrium and it cost about twice of what Provera does (and my insurance won't cover it until I pay out a $500 brand-name prescription deductible each year)
