The doc wanted me to take Provera again. I was on it two weeks ago and numerous times previously and it makes me a total basketcase (uncontrollable weeping, agitation, and depression), so she said we'd try Prometrium. She said it's natural progestin and has fewer side effects (then why didn't ya gimme this in the first place!?!?!)

Anyway- just wondering if anyone has taken both and noticed a difference?

Not exactly an answer to your question because I've never taken Provera, but my doctor told me the exact same thing. I'm taking Prometrium now (he doesn't prescribe Provera), and I would say that I'm not moody or sensitive at all. Usually I get PMS pretty bad when I get it on my own, but on Prometrium day 8, I'm not feeling at all hormonal.

I also can't tell you a difference becasue I too am just taking Prometruim and I have no side effects. And I get my period everytime. I go to the OB doctor tomorrow (wednesday) because I need to get started on this TTC thing here. I really want to give my future hubby a baby before I get too old. I am 10 years older than him so I need to start soon...I already have a daughter that is 14 this month ( I know I am crazy ) But I so desire another child let's just see if God blesses me with another one.

I say if Prometruim works stick with it. Good luck!!
