Where I live in Canada our whole territory which is the same as a province has 1 psychiatrist!!!!! ONE?????
So unless you are totally whacked you don't get to see him.
so my option if I wanna talk to someone is a therapist at 140 bucks an hour! My insurance only covers 300$ a year! Money is not an object, but still come on!!!!
I don't feel I really need to talk to someone as my problems are chemical, but my doc wants me to go to learn some cognative therapy which is learning techniques for stress! I guess i'll probably go but damn a psychiatrist is free in canada and I don't wanna pay 140bucks an hour

Psychiatrists are free?! What?! I'd never been told this! Craziness...
But yeah, it's amazing how lacking we are in specialists. And I'm in Vancouver! That really sucks that it's nearly impossible for you to get to see the psych.
So...what did you end up doing?

Yeah, there are some great books out there. I don't know any off hand for *dealing* with stress. But I do know of some that helped me to not be stressed in the first place.
For me, it was about a major attitude change. Attitude towards life, that is.
Actually I ended up doing nothing, as I was dealing with the dizziness etc and now that I have been on the celexa for almost 3 months I feel pretty good and "knock on wood" no panic attacks!
"Psychiatrists are MDs (went to medical school and all that) and they prescribe medication."
In the US, to be a Psychiatrist, all one needs is an MD with an additional 6 months training in psychology - you are probably better off seeing a Psychologist.
