It sounds like you have a version of tinnitus called pulsatile tinnitus. Tinnitus is basically when you hear a sound in your ear without there being an external source for the sound. Pulsatile tinnitus is associated with high blood pressure but can also be linked to other things. Please make an appointment with an ENT/Audiologist to get this checked out!!!
I have my Neuroanatomy class tomorrow, and I will field this question to my professor who is an audiologist who specializes in tinnitus and will ask him more about this condition!!!
Again, I am only a Speech Pathology grad student, so I am not able to give you a full diagnosis, only a theory so please make an appointment to see an ENT or Audiologist so you can be evaluated professionally because it might be something else!!!
