Lightbulb In pursuit of healthiness!

I know there are a lot of PCOSers with symptoms like mine, but want an alternative route and haven't got a clue where to start!

Do any of you ladies with a bit more experience w/ the alt way have any suggestions for herbs, vitamins or treatments that can help?

I have mild acne, hirsutism, absent periods, and am overweight. I'm currently eating bio-yogurts (with good for you bacteria), wholewheat breads/ cereals, tons of fresh fruit and veg, juice and water. I'm also doing water aerobics and an exercise video.

What do you know of that works? Any good responses can really help the cysters like me.

Thanks a lot for your time!

Take care and big hugs!
Christina

The best advice I can give is to do a search of this board for each symptom. We've had many discussions here about various aspects of PCOS.

One of the frustrating things about this disease is that what works for some doesn't work for others. I know that when I tried Vitex, I got much worse. It took a long time for my system to get back to 'normal' after that. Others do very well on Vitex. I took Saw Palmetto and B vitamins for the excess hair, and the growth slowed. For others, Saw Palmetto is not a good option.

Unfortunately, there is a degree of trial and error involved.

I found this supplement specifically designated for PCOS. I don't know how many people know about it, but I thought someone might find it of some use.

Default Just adding one more for now!

I also found the information on Soul Cysters to be really useful--

It isn't as in depth as the links I have posted already, but it is still pretty good!
