Question Qld's how was Sat's & Sun's storm for you?

Willowbank was hit pretty hard, we lost power for just over 12 hours.

Personally, we lost a 30 metre tall GUM. The wind snapped it halfway up the trunk (just missed the house), so we now have a 15 metre tall "wooden stake".

I also lost half of the limbs on my Jacaranda. Prior to the storm it covered about half of the backyard. Now it LITERALLY does...! Only in pieces.

No actuall damage to our house though.

Hope you all escaped injury & damage to property.

No real damage here (Burbank). We did have a lot of VERY CLOSE lightning though and the power went out very briefly. Batten down the hatches though because they are predicting more storms today.

Apart from some monster hai (50 cent peice size) and a very fretful sammie (my new car!! Out in the weather!) We did ok, heaps of welcome rain, and no real damage.

It is hot enough right now - about 35 degree's and very humid.

I got this off WeatherZone http://www.weatherzone.com.au/misc/breakingWeather.jsp
Severe storms persisting NSW/QLD
Paul Graham, Mon 16:21 EDT

A slow-moving, highly moisture laden trough system across eastern districts of NSW and QLD has combined with an upper level jetstream to trigger yet more violent thunderstorms on Monday. During Sunday, storms battered parts of Brisbane destroying a house under contruction (possibly from a tornado) near Ipswich. Widespread storm warnings covering much of eastern NSW and southeast QLD were issued. Heavy downpours caused localised flooding. West Bellthorpe (northwest of Brisbane) top scored with 101mm to 9am Monday. Imbil (south of Gympie) closely followed with 96.4mm. Severe storm warnings are again in force for northeastern parts of NSW and southeast QLD (mainly Wide Bay/Burnett).
