I am also on Met and have been since October but have never gotten AF with met alone. Combo it with estrodial and prometrium and I'll have a cycle everytime only I don't O with it. A lot of the ladies on here seem to get AF with met alone though. I would talk to yur dr about it. HTH

I'd get your Doc to run some labs and see if your hormones have improved...dose and diet may be an issue too.

It took me about 11 weeks on 1500 mg of met to get my first period, but given that it's been 12 for you, I';d have a heart to heart with your Doc and see what light he can shed on this.

Good luck!

Christy- I have been DX w/ PCOS and I received my glucose and insulin resistance tests back and the DR said they were normal... fasting glucose was 89 and insulin was 8. My AF are once in a blue moon unless I take Prometrium. Other tests on CD3 & CD21 all came back normal except progesterone.

CD :FSH- 4, TSH- 1.44, Prolacyin- 8.5.
CD 21ROG- 1

I have read that the Glucose Tolerance test are only 85% reliable. Do you know if you can take Metformin to help with the acne, weight & IR if your test come back normal? If so what dosage is usually prescribed?

I was on met for 5 five when AF arrived...after nearly five months without one. I generally have AF every month now, and I'm only taking met and thyroid meds.

HTH,

Dannie.
