They usually do come in about a week or so I think. Mine did anyways. Did they say they would call you when the results were back? Maybe call the office to see if they are in. Sometimes they do forget to call. I know I have had to call a few times. |

It also took me 3 weeks for blood test results(found out later doc was on vacation). It depends on what kind of hospital/doc you go to. If the hospital is big & your doc has lots of patients it can take longer to get the results from the u/s tech to the radiologist & then the radiologist to your doc & then your doc to you. I would say generally don't wait longer than 3 weeks without calling the office to see what is up! That should be plenty of time for any size hospital.

I found out a week later, but I had an appointment set up for then. I don't know when my doctor actually got the results, but we set up an appointment before my ultrasound so I wasn't worried. I would say to call your doctor and see if he has them in. |

My Mood: Points: 1,838.44 Bank: 1.64 Total Points: 1,840.08 | I got my results in about 24 hours! (I had an appointment w/ the dr. in a couple days anyway but he knows how nervous I get so he called me as soon as they came in!)
My bloodwork is generally normal, and I was diagnosed w/ PCOS based on symptoms, even before I had the ultrasound done. (I do have polycystic ovaries). My symptoms at diagnosis were: overweight, irregular heavy periods, AN, depression, thinning hair.
Hope you feel better soon
Jenny

They may have to do more bloodwork or other tests to find out what it is. On the other hand, sometimes your levels can be "normal" one day or depending on what range the particular lab considers normal. So, they may want to redo some of the tests again to see if anything has changed. Also, not all women with PCOS have polycystic ovaries so the u/s doesn't really rule it out.
I'm sure that didn't help much but PCOS is just like that sometimes... frustrating! Good luck with your diagnosis
