my mom has hypothyroid
and i have PCOS
am i at an even higher risk?
i just had mine checked cuz they thought thats what was wrong but obviously my hormones were funked up
but it was fine at the time

PCOS runs in the same families that thyroid disease runs in. So technically you're not any more high risk w/your mom hypo than you would already be in just having PCOS.

Just have them keep an eye on it. If your PCOS stays well controlled you may never develop any thyroid problems. That is not for certain though. Thyroid problems tend to be triggered by hormone swings and PCOS is famous for those.
