Any doc should be able to do a blood draw and send the blood off to a lab for results. My gyn did my blood work. The link I sent you has a list of blood tests you should get done including:
Cushings (can share symptoms of PCOS)
Insulin Resistance (can be controled with Metformin and can cause PCOS symptoms)
Thyroid
Cholesterol (women with PCOS are at high risk for cholesterol problems)
Liver levels (women with PCOS are at high risk for liver problems)
Hormone levels including testosterone

I hope they're able to help you! Another thought I had is that it won't hurt to act as though you DO have PCOS until you know for sure. You could make the lifestyle changes and possibly take herbs/supplements in the meantime. That's what's helped my PCOS, even more than Metformin (I do still take my Met, though).
