Default question

I have lost over 15lbs in one month on metformin....is that normal? I haven't even been trying.

Wink Yikes!

That does seem a little much, but I know that in my own experience, I was also retaining a lot of water....I lost about 12 the first month, but I attributed much of it to the loss of the extra water. If your weight loss continues like that, I would talk to your doc...that's a little too quick to be healthy for you. About 1-2 pounds a week is a healthy speed to lose.

Hello

I've been on Met since Sept last year. And, like you, lost about 1 stone within a month. My weight loss has slowed down now, and it's about 2 stone (28 pound) in total.

I really, really wish it had that effect on me.
I'd be taking all the weight loss I could get!
It's your body saying that this is the extra weight I carry due to insulin resistance and letting it go as you go on met.
Lucky you.
