i have had the Mirena IUD since a couple months after I had my daughter.....i have been trying for years to get on aldactone or spiro but no doctor would give me it.....finally the other day during my yearly pap with my gyno he offered it me without me having to ask or anything.....he knows i have the mirena iud but he gave me a script for the spiro and then also for microgestin which is a birth control pill i am calling them on monday to ask why i have to take 2 birth controls i dont get it has anyone else had this happen or is this weird or anything???? cant i just take the spiro with the iud since the iud is birth control????????

I think I recall hearing that spiranolactone can interfere with birth control, but I'm not positive. If that were the case, I would think that using a barrier back up method would be better.
