Question about AF, Spotting, and Meds... what's going on?
Hi everyone - hope you don't mind if I ask yet another question here, but I'm really confused right now and have no idea what is going on. (I did a forum search, but didn't find anything - sorry if I'm asking the same old questions over again!)
Backstory - me; PCOS plus hypothyroidism. I started Met 1000 a little over a month ago (Thankfully, no GI symptoms, so I've been taking it religiously). Also, About a month ago, I was prescribed a 10-day course of Provera, and within two days after I took the last pill, I got AF, which finished ten days ago. (Yay!) DH and I are TTC... If it's relevant, I also started taking herbs daily about 2 months ago - Vitex, Black Cohosh, and Dong Quai. I've cut way down on simple carbs and have been working out every day.. and have lost 8 pounds in the last two months.
So now... for the past few days, I've noticed very, very light spotting... I don't even know if I should call it "spotting..." it's kind of like heavy, pinkish-brown CM, and today, I've been cramping up a bit. (Sorry if TMI.) Is it possible to get AF only 10 days after having it from the Provera? Is it AF? Could it be ovulation spotting? (I never had that before, though.) Could it be something else, or could it just be random spotting (although once again, I never had that before)? I have to admit - I'm happy my body is doing anything at all without being specifically prompted, so whatever this is has to be a good sign, right?
Fortunately, I have an appointment with my doctor next week, so I can ask him about it, but I was just wondering if anyone had any insights here... Any and all opinions, advice, and/or assistance would be very gratefully appreciated.

I'm having the same thing (spotting but dark brown discharge) but i am not on Provera or anything similar, i take 1000mg Met, Armour thyroid & Cortef, also prognenolone & DHEA (it's been 6 months since my last real period) I did have a short period Saturday but a light one. I was wondering if this was caused by the Met. I'm also 44, not TTC, it also could be perimenopause talking.
I have no advice here but wanted to share that I have a similar thing. I'm not on any meds I'm not TTC but the last somewhat normal period I had was in November, other then that I get the light to medium spotting every 2-3 weeks for 1-2 weeks. So I'm not really sure whether I should consider this a period or consuld a doctor.
Sorry for not giving any advice as Im looking for some answers as well.

Oh wow. I just alled hubby to tell him i started bleeding again. It is the same thing. thick pinkish and brown discharge. I am on CD 12. I started Met on Friday, and have been on armour thyroid for about 6 weeks. I am also on some natural roots that my NMD gave me. All for hormone balancing, uterine tonic, and blood thinners( for my odd shaped blood cells)
I was going to call him tomorrow since h didnt mention i might have mid cycle bleeding. I want to make sure all is OK. We are not TTC now, but may be later this year if my body decides to be more normal. and we can get my hormones and antibodies under control,.
I will be watching tis thread, and if i get any news from my doc on the subject, i will post it,
