Default A question about BBT

Since I've started charting, I've noticed that my BBT is pretty low. Combined with the fact that I am frequently so tired that I can sleep for 12-14 hours, I suffer from depression and I seem to to not be able to get any weight off, I was wondering if I should be concerned with my thyroid. I know thyroid problems run in my family (not immediate). I also know that I've had my thyoid tested before and it has come back normal, but I don't know if my doctors ever ran the T3 and T4 tests as well. Any thoughts?

Well, those are signs of hypo.

I would have your dr. run a full thyroid panel and then get copies of your results and post them here for us to see.

most doctors go by the old ranges (which are like .5 - 4.5) or something like that and the new ranges are .3 - 3.0 I think.

good luck!

Another thing...

Make sure you get your thyroid antibodies checked. Many times all the other stuff will come back normal with someone who has Hashimoto's. But, the antibodies will trigger the hypo behavior in the body.

Get everything thyroid checked out and if you have to DEMAND it! Then, get copies of all your levels.

Good luck and let us know how things go...
