Question about blood test results after starting anti-depressant
Hey everyone. I hope you are all doing well. I am not doing so good. My alternative dr ran some blood tests on me yesterday. Although my triglycerides and cholesterol are down, which is good, my white blood cell count is up, one of my liver enzymes is up and my SED rate (amount of inflammation in the body) is up. She thinks it is the anti-depressants and wants me to go off them. Could this happen in only a week of taking them? I dont know what to do. I dont want to do harm to my body but I can't go on feeling this way....worrying, having anxiety and panic attacks, being depressed, etc. Has anyone else had liver enzymes that were high while on an anti-depressant? I'm not sure how high the liver enzyme was or which one was high, I go in Monday to go over the results with her.
I also have an appointment with an MD next week but will probably spend all weekend worrying about it. I am so afraid of taking anything besides Celexa because I have a fear of side effects from medication. I have taken Prozac in the past (which made me sleep all the time) and Effexor (which I will never take again). Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated. Thanks.
Mandi

I am not sure, I am on it and all my blood work is normal. although my white blood cell count is always slightly elevated but it was that way before starting celexa.

How high is your white blood count? Mine was like 6500 8 weeks ago and 9500 yesterday. That is still considered within normal ranges but my alternative dr said that high was still an indication of infection or something going on.
